When a day starts like this, you know that at some point you have to get out there. A walk to or from the car doesn't really cut it, and a lunchtime stroll leaves you wanting more. With legs still sore, a light run was planned for after work up at the Edge. My legs are like billets of steel. Not in a 'oooh you have lovely firm legs' type way, but more 'my legs are solid and hurt like hell' way. No heroics this evening, just a gentle run out in the cooling evening sunshine. And a fair bit of walking actually.
A fallen tree caught my eye. Its enormity, colours and textures something that I couldn't take my eyes or hands off. Its trunk a good meter across. It's probably had a great life and in some form or other will see a few more years out. The bark looked like the skin of a giant lizard and was even soft to the touch, yet so unyieldingly solid. More bluebells over here also, and carpets of dandelions. Yes, good running around, managed to get the lungs working without damaging the legs...and enjoying the blue skies. And then home for dinner...well Pizza, courtesy of Waitrose. Nothing but the best...
The good news is that the washer is fixed, well... replaced, so although some new gear has been ordered today, I needn't feel concerned about having no fresh running gear to deter me from running. This baby spins all the way to 1200. I'm not sure what this means, or if that's good or bad. Probably very average. All I know is that it works, it doesn't leak, it's actually quiet and it's hidden behind the door. Happy days!
