Confirmation of any race entry usually culminates in getting your race number. Either on the day, via the post or some other way, it's often confirmation that actually someone somewhere is expecting you. It's official, real...and final! In Pete's case, when's we registered this morning without too much anticipation or expectation, it was just another thing to do today. Until he opened the envelope, and there was the race number. "oooh, the money shot" I said. Pete looked at it and just froze, then he ran off up the stairs. I found him in a corner, sobbing, in a manly way, obviously, but just gazing at the number. It represented everything he's been working towards for the past 18 months, there in his hand. It's real, and it's tomorrow.
One more sleep.
Good luck Pete.
