Had to go to Bournemouth last week and managed an über early run along the beach. Über early...pre 6 if you're wondering. Early for me. But it was a hive of activity. A nice little scene going on. Girls excercise classes on the sand, guys with metal detectors, revellers from the night before, the homeless waking and finding intermediate shelter, riders and runners. All of whom seemed intent on giving you a nod or a wave. A sunny post storm morning and an out and back run, literally following my own footsteps.
Then training again this week saw us bake in the sun. It's a special experience to put yourself through this. Rep sessions where after the first you're seriously working on your excuse as to why you're not going to make it through to the 6th and final. With each lap, then then the following sprint drills, you think you've given everything you've got. But somehow you find more. More from your body and more from your soul. Got a rough few days coming up. Going to have to dig deep once again.
